Biographies

Alina Uddin

Originally from Ukraine, Alina Uddin is an accomplished pianist, teacher, chamber performer and concertmaster. Uddin has appeared on concert stages throughout the world, including Ukraine, Egypt, Spain, Morocco and America. She began her piano studies at the age of 7 and gave her first solo recital, “Evening of Waltzes,” at the age of 11.

While a student, Alina participated in numerous regional and national competitions and festivals. She was awarded Best Performance at the Sumy Piano Competition and received a scholarship from the Bortniansky High School of Arts and Culture in the Ukraine, from which she was awarded an Associate of Arts degree in Music. At the Slobojanshina Young Artist Piano Competition, she garnered a full scholarship to study at the National P.I. Tchaikovsky Music Academy of Ukraine, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree. The International Piano competition “Nueva Acropolis” held in Madrid, Spain gave her additional opportunities to appear internationally.Throughout her studies, she has had the opportunity to work with a number of distinguished piano teachers including Michail Stepanenko, Alla Zadirackaya, Valentina Skoromnaya, Nelli Ldova, Aleksandr Ldov, Iya Pavlova and Lyudmila Martsevich.

Alina has taught piano to a wide range of students for over 18 years. Her goal is to enrich the lives of children and others through the understanding and enjoyment of classical music and to serve as an inspiration for the next generation of musicians.

Maria Gorodetskaya

Russian pianist Maria Gorodetskaya began her career as a winner of the “Young Pianist Tchaikovsky Competition” in Ukraine. She made her concert debut performing Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D Major and Tchaikovsky’s “The Seasons” at the Odessa Philharmonic Concert Hall.

Recognizing Maria’s exceptional musical ability, her family moved to Moscow, where Maria attended Russia’s Moscow Conservatory College. While a student, she actively performed for the MCC Concert Series.
She won second place overall in the Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Paris, France, winning the concerto competition with Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto 1. She has also participated in a number of international festivals in Russia, the Czech Republic and the USA.

Maria Gorodetskaya received her first master’s degree in music from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, and her second master’s in music from the University of Florida Gainesville. Currently Maria lives in the USA with her family, where she is teaching and performing extensively.
